what's at the end of the yellow (irish/brown) brick road...

soooo.... this is it. the last day the WYTYKWTWKB originators will share office space. It's crazy to think an entire three years went by. Life is so different now than it was three years about. Milky is to be wed in a couple months!!! And S-Dawg is off to find herself - or at least a little peace. And as I head off, I wanted to do one last posting from my desk here on 5th Ave. That is not to say there won't be future postings - they just won't be from here!

So, Milky - thanks for being my scarecrow (NOTE: he always had a brain... don't lose sight of the real message...lol). you will be missed! it's been great having someone in my life daily who knows me well. It's been a ton of fun - I'm glad we got to know each other so well and got to share so many laughs. I'm sad I'll miss your wedding - but I'm so happy for you and I can't wait until you are sending me pictures of your kid (which you can totally name 'S-Dawg' if you want).

So...signing off...FOREVVVVERRRRRRR....joke! i mean...for now....

peace & love

Re: The American Dream ...

Doesn't the American dream have to take place in America? If so .. good luck finding or having a house built for you on the beach where the mortgage payments are low enough to afford on a bar tender's salary in a place that "no one knows about it" BumbleFUN sounds more like BumbleDOESNOTEXIST!

In the words of Captain Murphy:
"Too Bad"

THE AMERICAN DREAM...

...is a pretty subjective thing. Mike shed light on this as he described his American dream to me. Let me share that with you. Imagine Mike, beer in handing, sliding down the slide into his pool in his big $200,000 house in bumblefudge shouting "I made iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!". Oh, bumblefudge - the possibilities you offer to the average American.

But then I got to thinking what I usually get to thinking... what about me!? What the heck is my average American Dream? I mean, I'm average and American, too. And when I look at this slide, my ass feels instantly chaffed. That and I'd never be able to hold on to a beer and still get down this thing. And of course, Bumblefudge. Well, what the fudge would I do there? The only brown girl in Bumblefudge probably. So off to the internet to find my average American dream photo set up....

So since it would have to involve tropics of some sort - and a job for me, since of course, I am still living the average working life... i googled two things I love... beaches and booze (not beer, booze)... I'm thinkin an after-work margarita daily at the beach bar i work at - wherever the heck this is... let's call it Bumblefun:

so im not sure exactly where I'd sleep. I'm imagining some kind of cute, affordable beach house behind this place. With really cheap rent, since no one knows about it. No wait - renting is not in my American dream. I'd have someone build a place. A regular customer, who happened to be a local contractor and loved my margaritas. Anyway, I'd own this magical little place away from it all. And no one would really be able to get there. I, of course, would leave to visit NY and family and everything - every once in a while. But I'd return to my life of serving margaritas and living off just what I needed to survive. Beach and margaritas. Now that's what I can an American dream.
